About
Richard was born in Leicester in the heart of the England but at the age of 18 he moved to the university town of Bangor, in North Wales, where he studied for a bachelors degree in Electronic Engineering and a Ph.D. in Biophysics. It was during his time in Bangor that he rediscovered his Anglican roots and became deeply involved with the Church in Wales. During his time in Wales he also spent two months working with the Mar Thoma church in Kerala, South India. He moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 2000 and then came to San Diego in 2004. Richard was the chair of the Dorcas House committee for the past two years until he started his seminary studies at the new diocesan School for Ministry in Ocean Beach last September. The school provides a new way for postulants to study for the holy orders whilst still keeping their existing jobs. Richard is married to Antonio and when not working or studying enjoys spending time with friends. Recently he re-certified as a scuba diver and is hoping to get to spend some time in the water improving his scuba skills.
